11. How will this project or initiative help meet student learning needs that are currently unmet in your
district?
Many of the national technology goals address skills currently unmet in our district. As we strive to encourage the development of 21st century skills in our students, new skills will be integrated into our curriculum. These skills include: creativity and innovation, communication and collaboration, improved research and information fluency, improved critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making. As students advance in their uses of the technologies provided by this grant, they will become stronger digital citizens and demonstrate personal responsibility for lifelong learning.
With this grant the district will be able to transform the concept of student projects from out-of-date student works to more elaborate student projects. Students will be able to produce and edit their ownn videos and incorporate them in class projects in a timely fashion that does not require the help from television studios.Currently in order to format any movie projects built on Windows Movie Maker into a dvd format, a television studio is required to format the clips which is very time consuming and uses quite a few resources.
Furthermore, integrated technology can help students achieve greater content mastery because it makes learning fun and easy by engaging the brain and provides opportunites to create, communicate, and collaborate.
